A Friday night Northern League Second Division fixture between Washington and Thornaby. Both sides had struggled coming into the game and when Thornaby took an early 2-0 lead the game looked over. Washington made a game of it in the second half scoring from a penalty and putting pressure on the away side for the last ten minutes. In the end 1-2 was probably a fair result. Highlight of the day was Thornaby’s strip and traveling supporters.
